I used to play "hacky sack" everyday in middle school. None of us ever got very good... i could occasionally do toe stalls and flying clipper (didn't know what it was called then.. Although, we would do it with an out dex.) We would have a circle going every lunch.. But, we would play this game known as 'God.' Basically, if it was hit three times, you could catch it and hurl it at one of your fellow competitors. lol Violent, painful, yet still fun (and excitedly satisfying.) I eventually fell out of it.. but one of my friends found his old crocheted sack and i felt like kicking again. I decided to look for videos online.. i came across Flipsider and it went from there. The most inspiring video i've seen so far is "Style is forever" with Yacine Merzouk. He's amazing...
So, eventually... i ended up here. i really had no idea that there was "Freestyle footbag" or was i aware of the insane things some of you are able to accomplish. i knew at once i wanted to immerse myself in this sport. i want it even more now.
So, i'm just starting. i have no unrealistic expectations of what i want to accomplish "soon." i'm working on the fundamentals... Kicks. i can toe stall consistently. 80%? Maybe a little less on my right foot. Just found myself able to do inside stalls.. but only right foot. Getting there... Getting there...
Trying to work myself up to 100 hundred consecutive kicks.. i hit 35 before school behind the donut shop. (Maybe i should have gone to Second period instead...) That number is far from consistent lol.. but i did it!
Last night i ripped my vans... but they're still playable for now. i'm dreaming about those Rod Lavers...... i see myself owning a pair and it brings a tear to my eye.
i suppose my biggest accomplishment is around the world. i can even toe stall sometimes. Only right leg though... My left is still dumb.
