Do you think figure skating is a sport? I don't cause its winners are picked by judges its way too subjective. I still think that figure skaters are hella cool. They are bad ass atheletes its just that i dont label what they do as "sport" same with hackysackfootbag.

Figure Skating is a sport.

Subjectivity has nothing to do with being a sport or not. Read Ben's definition.

Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing), but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports and motor sports where mental acuity or equipment quality are major factors.

There is a difference between a sport, and a competition.
Footbag is a competition- not a sport.
A competition is something where the results depend on the opinion of a judge. Like figure skating, diving and footbag. It is competitive but there is a subjective aspect to it as well.
A sport requires a clear cut winner- who has the highest score when the time runs out, who is the fastest, who had the best time and so on.

every year there is but 1 clear cut winner, a world champion, and usually at specific tournament there are clear cut winners (usually in the form of routines)

sports are competitive, thus is footbag a sport, from what you defined YOU defined footbag as a sport.

EDIT: do you know the history of "Hacky Sack?" and how it was originally called a footbag? and WHAM-O DIDNT invent it.

I bet you stoners never call tissues Kleenex and you never make a xerox only a photocopy and you never drink out of a thermos only an insulated drinking cup. You also never ride escolaters only moving staircases and you never use bandaids when you hurt your toes on your footbags you use adhesive bandages. and you certaintly dont use a zipper you use zip fasteners. And if your lips get chapped from hating on DonC too much dont grab some chapstick you gotta use lipbalm.

the reason a lot of us like to remain it to be called footbag is because of THAT stoner mentality that comes from "Hacky Sack"

calling it footbag only legitimizes that fact.

I have never done a drug a day in my life so assuming such is assanine.

once footbag gets more televised media coverage in the US than bowling, jumprope , cheerleading and competitve eating than I will admit in front of footbagnation that it is indeed a sport. Until than its just a game. I love this game.

It's because of the desire to make this place a resource that we even have to entertain this type of bullshit.

Escolator is not a brand of moving stairs, it is the generic term. "Endless Conveyor", "inclined elevator", "Motorstair" are implementations of Escalators. Otis lost the trademark to the word in the 1950s, thus allowing Escolator to become the generic word for such devices.

Actually I do use band-aids, but the package also is official brand-aid brand adhesive bandage.

Blah blah blah . . . Nobody says hackysack because we don't have hackysacks. Hackysacks are crappy footbags, and a different culture all together. You should go check out www.footbag.com it's a more friendly place for people that can't respect footbag. You can take your convo to their site and be very welcomed.
