Good session today. All I did were drills. My regular swirl is pretty consistent now. And I freakin worked the hell out of my flip pixi with smears. Ugh, that's hard.

My humanities teacher told a Polish joke today. We were talking about Frédéric Chopin. He wasn't trying to hate on the Poles, but I thought it was uncalled for.

Right now I should be working on a research paper for my English class, instead I'm searching modified. I just read Jordan's journal, and it made me think about a lot going on in my life.

A topic I feel that is regularly brought up by many people, finding good friends. I have a few friends here in lakeland that I get along with well, and then there's my manager. We have a weird relationship. We get along so well and can talk about anything. We have a blast working together, but then we leave work and have completely opposite lives. Confusing. I wish I could find someone like that to be friends with when I'm not at work, and do regular things like shop and hang out.

But when do I have the time? Last week I worked 57hrs. Thank god I love my job.

David sent me a new footbag. I think I shouldn't have to pay anything, considering I'm his bff and all,. It's lighter than I'm used to.

I found a picture of a birthday party I had.

I had a good Christmas. I think I spent too much on myself, but the holidays only come once a year.

The best thing I got for myself was probably a new comforter for my bed. its amazing.

I feel completely miserable. I've been in bed all day. Yesterday I went to the worst New Years Party ever. It was at a hotel, things were completely out of control. And now I'm sick and watching tv all day.

Modified sure isn't what it used to be for me. I guess that happens with everything though. Nothing stays the same. I used to want to write everything down in here but, now I'm worried about writing what I really feel in case I'll get my head bit off again.

I guess you could say I'm in a rut right now. I'm lonely. I want a close companion to snuggle with at night and to rent movies, laugh with, and open myself to. I want someone to understand me and the type of person I am. I'm sure Ill find him one day.

Side thoughst:
It seems that no one has time for anything anymore, and that really sucks. I can't even talk to David anymore.

Something thats really keeping me going is my paintings. I'm doing a ton of art stuff. And, I'm doing a lot of juggling which I really like, and hope to get pretty decent at.

A few hours ago I got back from helping my friend shop for her daughters wedding. Plus I just went to a wedding Sat. It really makes me want to settle down and get married. The thought is so nice, to have that fairy tale wedding and honeymoon. I cant wait.

Until reality sets in-

peace,
Ashley

I feel really similar about some things.
I'm getting bored of Modified too. Not so much because of being worried about being attacked, as much as I feel that there really isn't much worth reading lately. So I post less.
I also feel in a rut. I think I have depression or something. I'm always tired and drained.

Anyway, when I read your post I felt like I could relate to how you're feeling. And thought that I would say that. Ha. It was also really nice to finally meet you and hang out at Worlds. Oh yeah, and the art thing. 'Cause I'm hoping to draw more, and was thinking of doing some paintings too.
Feel better.

It makes me sad to read about people being lonely. I don't think anyone in this world should have to say that. especially a footbagger!

At least be glad that you have friends :)

Do you believe in love at first sight? it sounds like that when you say, "I'm sure I'll find him one day." Do you think you will just run into someone you will immediately love? Just let it come naturally though, its not fun to see a girl who is forcing themselves to be in love. thats really a love addiction which can be bad.

now i'm rambling, sorry!

have a good day and be happy!

Sincerely,

Hehe, what planet are you on?? In my experience, at least, footbag is probably one of the worst ways to develop friendships, romantic or not. Theres a number of problems. Firstly, the "normal" footbagger is introspective and not very outgoing. Its not a team game so its not entirely conducive to being "social". Many of us don't like being approached by non-players ("bet you cant do that with a soccer ball!"). Lots of players just shred in their house or some other place equally reclusive. Secondly, any typical city is going to only have 1-3 serious players. A guy looking for a girlfriend footbagger is going up against insurmountable odds. Odds worse than getting struck by lightning. A lady looking for a boyfriend bagger is in a far better position, but still pretty difficult. If you're the only player in the city, you're just shit out of luck. Third, footbag comes off as weird to strangers so they are typically put off in approaching a player. I don't believe the opposite sex finds the footbag dance attractive. Plus its a segregating sport. Either you play or you don't. You can't just pick up a bag and go.

So yeah, one might be better having another hobby if you want to meet someone. Maybe ultimate frisbee, rowing, lacrosse, volleyball, or some other team game. Hell, my college has a club for about every sport/hobby imaginable except footbag. I'm not even close to gathering up the whopping 5 players required to start one. lollerskates.

I'd have to say I disagree that footbag is one of the worst ways to develop friendships. I don't think there is a "normal" footbagger either.

I also like being approached by non footbaggers when I'm playing. Yesterday I kicked at a lake and some old guy asked if I had a rubber band attached to my foot and the bag?! lol. It made me laugh more than anything. I'm trying to play in public more, because it pushes me to bust hard when people are watching. I had some guy say he wish he had a camera because there was a Kodak moment. I think I hit like whirl>rev swirl x6 or something.

And for the record, I'm not looking for a footbagger to have a relationship, nor do I expect it to be the way I meet the one.

Same. It also develops your "crowd confidence" which can pay off in competition.
