Seriously I couldn't agree less with you Psilocybe.
My current girlfriend approached me first because she saw me playing footbag.
I think most footbaggers (definitely in Denmark and also most of the european players I have met) are very outgoing and social.
Also I think people find pro hackysack more interesting than strange.
Sorry for the hi-jack.
Post some of your paintings Ashley! Your artwork is slick!
I painted someone a painting for Christmas and it made them cry. Thats something I'll never forget.
I would love to see that painting, do you have a photo/scan of it?
"Hi, I'm Psilocybe. Don't play footbag, you can't make friends through it. Try volleyball or something."
PM me if you want to rant and rave more but lets keep it out of Ashleys blog.
back on topic:
i do agree, playing in front of people is an uber adrenaline booster. I seem to focus more and concentrate on hitting the next move. it gets me to be smart about my strings so i can keep them long and controlled. when im alone sometimes i try to bust too big and do strings that arent 'smart'.
props on Whirl>rev swirl x 6
was that same side or b2b?

P.S.- Your blog sure does have a lot of views for the amount of posts! i have about 300 more blog posts in mine than yours but you have 200 more views! maybe no one likes to read about me? they sure do like to read about you though!
I wont dis you anymore. Sorry to make you feel like you cant post what you're feeling. I promise not to overreact again. Dunno if this helps. Good luck on the hunt. My latest ex said this helpful piece of advice:
Do not seek love, seek to remove the barriers within yourself that prevent you from being your best. Then, you might be ready for love when you find it.
Anyway that was the paraphrase. It was said to me more elloquently but you know I'm a dog. It's good to hear that you are still makin art. I recently discovered a new favorite artist. You know my previous fav was alex grey.. but check out this guy!! I actually met him in Portland, OR. He is one of Red Husted's roommates. Best artist EVER!! darklit.deviantart.com
Caution, if you don't want to hear me bitch and complain, don't read any further.
VENT:
i just finished arguing with my mom for a half hour over my books for school. She's supposed to pay me back for the 170 that it cost me. (2 classes) Instead she ignores the fact that she even owes me money at all because, mainly, i'm not my brother and I have to pay for everything.
Heres where I vent about that.
I got a scholarship that pays for all of my college tuition except books. Pretty good deal right? My parents paid like 5 grand for my brother to get a personal training degree. Well, they don't want to pay for my books, and making no effort to give me payments. I understand bills, but my moms not even communicating a plan to pay me. She just expects me to forget that it came out of my pocket. Every time I ask about the money she ignores me, which caused me to get very loud and thus, the argument happened.
Well after all that hissing she knocked very loudly on my door and handed me 40 dollars. Then gave me this big speech about bills. So now I feel guilty about taking the money!!! But it really pisses me off that she even had the money because when I asked she said she didn't have any so she lied.
2nd thing. I have a job. That degree my brother got, hes done nothing with and for the past 4 years has not had a job. I have to pay for:
phone, 50
gas, 120
car payment*! 230
car insurance
anything I want, I have to pay for.
My parents give me $0. And ya know it wouldn't be that big of a deal, because I make enough money to support myself, but they give my 24 year old brother money.
*My parents bought my brother an $11,000 firebird. No payments for him, just a free sports car. And my dad gives him money for gas and cigarettes and whatever else he wants as long as he runs to the store for him. Myself, I got my moms santa fe when she got a new one and have to continue the payments on it.
Like I said, I don't mind paying for all my expenses. But it's not fair that my brother gets everything handed to him, when all I'm asking for is for them to pay the 170 my school books cost.

Another thing I don't understand is long distance relationships. Since when did it become bad to want to communicate with the person on a regular basis? And by regular I mean like once every two weeks. I mean, am I the only one who actually wants to know how the other one is doing? Am I too attached still? Whats the right amount of talking, is an hour too much? Is once a month better? I guess it depends on the people.
What I do understand is that there are two people, connected somehow, living separate lives, trying to maintain a relationship. But now the relationship is completely different. Everything's changed around. And if 5 years go by, you might be replaced by new friends, or thought of less because your not physically in the persons life. It's fucked up. When do you let go, and start only sending Christmas cards, and birthday calls.

Sometimes I want to run away, but thats a cop out. If I could afford it I would want to move near the beach.
All I really want is one solid person in my life.

I'm drawing my first good drawing!! I'm 12 hours in to it. Its gonna take me like 8 more hours???? Or so.. When its done I'll scan it and show you. Good luck with stuff.
My oldest sister got all of my mom's co-signs. My sister believes that since my mom co-signed, she does not have to worry about the payments, and my mom will take care of it. Of course my mom will take care of her own credit score. Anyways, it is not really fair to my middle sister and me (who did not have the chance to go off to college or get a car with parental help)...or my mom the most. It would be nice if my sister would step up and take responsibility. If I ever won money, after seeing what my sister has put my mom through, I always say that I would pay off my sister's debts just to lift some weight off my mom's shoulders.
As for long-distance relationships, I always feel like I am the one putting all of the effort into keeping relationships since I moved away from them. People who have never moved do not understand how hard it is for one person to keep up with everyone as opposed to everyone keeping up with one person...something like that. Anyways, I am still figuring things like this out after moving like 7 years ago. I found out who my real friends were. I lost some who I thought were friends, but oh well? I've actually practically given up on one friend recently, and then for some odd reason, called her house for new years and ended up at her house the next day, regaining a sense of friendship. So I dunno what to tell ya. Do expect changes, though.
if you can fight through it, you will be a stronger and better person than your brother ever can be. it might be harder, but I bet you come out on top as the happier person with your life. Good luck. You are an extraordinary person. you can do it!
I was going to try and post something insightful about long-term relationships, moving away from your nest and comfortable circle of friends but Crissy summed up my thoughts pretty much spot-on:

Keeping friendships going over a long-distance takes time and effort. But it's well worth it.

"If the painter wishes to see enchanting beauties, he has the power to produce them.
If he wishes to see monstrosities, whether terrifying, or ludicrous and laughable,
or pitiful, he has the power and authority to create them. . .
Indeed, whatever exists in the universe, whether in essence, in act, or in the imagination,
the painter has first in his mind and then in his hands."
I love the tree on the left and the white flowers on the bottom. I'm always really envious of people who can make something as beautiful as that. I don't have the skill to do anything like that (because I've never practiced art at all), and I have a problem in that I always try to make things even or precise. The reason that painting appeals to me so much is that it's not precise; flowy but still right.
"I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
Thanks everyone. That was the painting I gave to my friend. I think it looks better from a distance, but I just took an up close photo.
So today I worked>work out at the YMCA> about to shower>paint.
I'm helping paint a room with the same friend, Tracy. Her daughter is nine, so we are painting the walls sky blue, green grass, a tree, butterflies, and a fence in her room. We got glow in the dark stars for the sky too. So far its looking pretty good, I can't wait to see the final product.
I sessioned yesterday. I worked on my spins. I want them to really look good so I'm concentrating on arm placement and stuff. We'll see.
Thats it.

I just had an idea. If people pay 30ish dollars for a footbag then I would think that they would pay up to 100 dollars to get your to make a crazy footbag drawing of them. Like in the style of your avatar. You could go to for sale and post that they send you whatever pic u want and you make it that style. Just a thought. But, you could set the price so that not too many people would order it from you, but when they did it was worth your time. Just a thought.
I got that 13 coins job I'ma make more than I did at Cheesecake Factory.
I've been up to a lot of different things these past couple of weeks. A lot of things have run through my head, ideas mostly. Like a web site for my art. A web site for my friend and I starting a small business doing murals for rooms. New drawing and painting techniques. I bought new brushes for my paint set, a couple new canvas. I remember the best birthday gift I ever had was spending 300 dollars at Michael's Arts and Craft store. Thanks sam. I wish I could do that every birthday.
I started doing P90X, which is this crazy at home work out dvds thing, and it is kicking my ass into shape. My legs right now feel like jello from the plyometrics DVD. 12 total Dvds like chest and back, legs and back, yoga, X stretch, ab ripper X ect... I feel like plyometrics will help my footbag game the most because its 1 hour of crazy jumping exercises. Right now I don't think im in bad shape, but I definitely need to tone up and thats what this program is about. Its definitely not for the couch potato.
I've started drinking coffee. I never though I would start, until someone made me a cup and it was amazing. I guess I never really played around with adding cream and sugar and whats the right amount. I always just remember trying my parents and finding it rather disgusting. Right now I'm a newbie so i use a lost of cream and sugar and it tastes great first thing in the morning.
Still kicking of course, like today in the midst of my work out i hit spinning osis> pdx whirl just messing around. I was happy with that.
I hope dans back heals up so alex, dan and I can meet up soon and kick. I cant wait for that.
alrighty then,
peace
