Does anyone roll your own cigarettes?
It's cheaper this way. I was wondering what the best rolling papers and tobacco are.
What inspired you to start rolling your own?

I've been hearing good things about Jester.
What kind of tobacco would you get, and how much of it would you purchase at a time? I smoke infrequently and don't want it to dry out. I think keeping it in an open plastic bag with a wet paper towel around it and inside of a sealed bigger plastic bag might be effective.
I'm thinking about just natural tobacco. Did you ever use filters? I've been thinking that might be a pretty good idea
side note:
Hey Tom. If you don't have anything positive to say, please just keep it to yourself or PM me instead of cluttering the thread.

Not that I advocate smoking (I agree with Tom), but it seems you're willing to go through a lot of trouble for a casual smoke every now and then.
Regarding not letting your tobacco dry out, I can only think of humidors that are used to keep cigars from drying up. You can also buy "disposable" humidor bags that you can keep cigars in for about three months. I'd imagine that these would work with rolling tobacco also.

Well it would be even more trouble if he did it multiple times daily. It makes more sense to roll your own smokes when you're casual about it.max wrote:Not that I advocate smoking (I agree with Tom), but it seems you're willing to go through a lot of trouble for a casual smoke every now and then.
I smoke casually also. I'll get a pack and smoke most of it while drinking, but then abstain for a couple of weeks for health/addiction reasons. It seems to me like rolling my own would be an even better idea, since it would benefit my skills in rolling other things as well.
I don't plan on smoking at all in a few years. I know that's what they all say, but I'm pretty confident in my abilities to "quit whenever I feel like it".

Another tip as long as we're talking about ways to make a rollie less harsh; there's a method I learned about long ago in my sensi burning days where you basically roll a joint inside out with the gummed edge at the bottom, so in effect you roll it until you have a nice little tube with a half inch of excess paper hanging off, which you can remove by burning or tearing it away.
In essence a method of rolling that requires you to inhale half the amount of paper.

Back then, I was more into Drum for rolling and "Lucky Strikes" for regular cigarettes.
Nowadays, on and off, I pick up a Camel once in awhile, but I choose not to smoke much tobacco anymore.
I do have a stash of "Captain Black Gold" pipe tobacco that I put aside only on rainy/stressful days, but I generally don't touch it at all. And I use a long and slender wooden pipe, so I generally put a small amount in it every time I take a smoke.
Anyway, tobacco is bad.

Ya, this is how I do it. Youtube "backrolling" or backroll to get step by step instructions since its tricky but you basically just lick the glue through the paper.BainbridgeShred wrote:Another tip as long as we're talking about ways to make a rollie less harsh; there's a method I learned about long ago in my sensi burning days where you basically roll a joint inside out with the gummed edge at the bottom, so in effect you roll it until you have a nice little tube with a half inch of excess paper hanging off, which you can remove by burning or tearing it away.
