Goldberg & Friends: Pizza Blog

Post by Alex Dworetzky »

Warning: this blog will not include any shred highlights or updates, it serves as a means to track our progression in the science of pizza making and consumption.

August 25th, 2007. 7:30pm Pacific Time:

-New Record, 9 pizzas in the making. Also, 20 tomahawks by Vasek Klouda done earlier today (only shred mention.)

-Trying out a new technique: Oven
Convection. Enables us to cook 3 pizzas at one time, using air circulation and three shelves within the oven.

-There are roughly 16 guests eating, so there will likely be extras, but the variety will be enormous.

-Very experimental pizza: our first "half and half" pizza with a new topping, tomato.

-Standard Toppings: Sauce, Cheese (mozzarella and aged sharp cheddar), Garlic and Onions.

-Common Toppings: Ground Beef, Italian Sausage, Peppamoni (pepperoni).

-New/ Experimental Future Toppings: Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Capsicum.

I agree that Goldberg's pizzas are good. Is the dough of choice still from New York or has one surpassed it?

Sorry this took so long, we blame Dustin (bail master/computer guy) Rhodes.

Here's an example pizza (ground Beef) (left = uncooked, right = cooked)

No, I actually make it myself from scratch now. It kicks ass.

No, but he put his dirty laundry in my dryer instead of the washer (he said he couldn't tell the difference, so it was "50-50"). He added soap and started it going. It was gross.

Today is Tuesday, and to my knowledge there might be pizza in the making within the next 12 hours.

What are the chances that we could have an update on it's performance? Has it done anything new recently? Added anything to it's typical lineup? Any chance for some HD video?

I willl take pics next saturday...
The pizzas are AMAZING
possibly the reason i go to steves on tuesdays...
saturdays are all about the shred... but tuesdays are all about the pizza (we drive from stanford after shred and are SUPER hungry...
I am currently the official garlic slicer :) and lately i have been the pepperoni degreaser, which sucks ( jeff mudd is the official degreaser in my opinion, and without eric chang there is a lot more work (WE MISS YOU ERIC!!!) and progress on GTA whatever city or number has gone to shit....

but yes, we degrease the pepps, and it makes them soo much better!!!!

I think i need to bring bbq sauce and chicken and grill up some red onions for the masterpiece.... ohh bbq the chicken too.... after all, next saturday is the season to be jolly hehe, two days before (4/20/09).

PIZZA!
