Played today in the lavers that I modded the other night. Was a basics session for the most part. Since I had to play in the confined space of the common room of my suite, it wasn't the most fun. Fun none the less though.

Worked on spinning a bit because I just read the spinning part in the vasek manual. I got 6 spinning clipper strong side and 4 weakside. I know I can do way way more. I just need to put more time into it. I did spin > gyro > rpt the smoothest I've ever done it. It felt sooo nice. I also hit spin butter > gyro clip > rpt. It felt nice.

Longest string today was 28 contacts I believe. The switch from climacools to lavers hasn't seemed to be too bad. I've been able to osis bs no problem. That was one thing that I was truly worried about. I kinda assumed that my climacools and their deep cupness were the cause if my osis-ability. I'm happy to learn that I actually did have some good form in it

It's raining and the comedy show that I was going to go to tonight is sold out and everyone is at home. I need to find something to dooo.

Played again today for about an hour. I really have to find a close place to kick at. Constantly playing on the slanted parking garage can only be bad. There are tennis courts but they're a long distance-ish. Walkable, but not when I want to play in between classes.

Today I mostly worked on getting my concepts to the level that they were at in climas. My spinning seems to not be phased at all and only continues to get better/more consistent. Spin > gyro > rpt is getting very smooth. I'm able to do my whirls more of less fine but I drift when I go for consecutives, especially on flipside. That could be due to my sloped playing surface but who knows.

In climacools, I didn't particularly have to aim where to catch on certain clipper moves. In lavers I definitely have to do my best to catch in the same spot every time. It's definitely and obviously the key to infinity and osis and such. It was very key for zooming. I can pretty much zoom with my strong osis (left osis) as easily as I could in climas, but with flip (right osis) I have to make sure to turn into the osis enough, to solidify the delay. Otherwise, it just rolls to the ground.

I finally freaking got smear > plo > rpt again. After 3 sessions, my pixies are starting to become consistent again. I'm definitely getting a lot of straight sets so thats good.

I ended the day with going for a 20+ contact string since I had only worked on drills and such all session. I got a 23 or 24 contact strict after a few tries and called it quits. I had to shower to go to class.

I can confidently say that I'm making progress with my lavers. I sure do miss being a cool climacool user though  Hopefully I can get to a good confident level by east coasts. On that note, hopefully I go to east coasts. I really want to at this point. I definitely should be able to find a way.

Have a good one

Just had a session where I was truly satisfied after. Even though I may have rushed the beginning and tried the wrong stuff for a little while, it all ended pretty well.

Highlights:

-whirl x7 flipside
-whirl x5 strong side
-whirl x3 bsos
-dimwalk > pdx whirl bs
-gyro whirl bs
-solid delays on my paradons (held them for a brief moment)
-I seemed to be able to do drifters again
-same side and far "symple" osis both bs
-toe set ducking clipper > merkon > rpt
-came unbearably, painfully close to a few other bigger gyro/spinning moves

Those were what I was really happy about. I tried to really focus on stringing at the end of the session. Here are the # of contacts for 6 strings that I did in a row. 29 > 7 > 31 > 6 > 8 > 21. Real consistent

Fiiiiiiinnnnaaaaallllllyyyyyyy hit flip DATW (i-o). It was barefoot though, so I'll have to work on the whole shoe part. I can at least finally freaking say I've DATW both directions on both feet.

Happy day

Nice zooms and spins. I'd really like to see you decrease the number of two add tricks in your runs. You could go guiltless pretty easily in the next six months, and phasing out the number of twos in your runs would be a good step in that direction.

As requested, I worked on guiltless stuff and such today. I did a bunch of drills that were mainly BOPs and the like.

Highlights:

- toe set butterfly > ss butterfly > pdx mirage > rpt > toe set butterfly > ss butterfly > pdx illusion > rpt
- to set ss butterfly > spinning clipper > ducking clipper > pdx mirage rpt > to set ss butterfly > spinning clipper > ducking clipper > pdx illusion rpt (except I dropped the last pdx illusion)
- toe whirl > pdx mirage > rpt (have done with illusions before but I wasn't having to much luck with it today)
- toe op osis > osis > pdx mirage > rpt > toe op osis > osis > pdx illusion > rpt
- osis > whirl > rpt (done before but it doesn't hurt to list it)
- 10 guiltless not as a drill

The 10 guiltless was my ultimate goal for today's session. I didn't bother with routine practice today because I just wanted to play. If I can get myself to play tomorrow, I'll work the routine then.

^^^^Haha yeah, it was a spur of the moment type thing.

Just played. It was like the worst session ever lol. I went into it trying to play above my level, and as we all know that never works out. Then when I tried bringing my level down, couldn't even get 20 contacts. I'd honestly love to attribute it to the slanted parking garage I play on, so I will. I'm never playing on that freaking thing again lol. I just need to know my shit. (I did hit a blurry whirl though. Also had some good attempts at spinning whirls on both sides)

At least I can't complain that I didn't play

edit: I did actually hit flip spinning ducking osis, so the session wasn't a complete waste

Haha alright mike, I'll definitely try to do more in the next one.

Just played on the tennis courts instead of the parking garage. I felt the difference immediately and it was soooooo much nicer. It was a decent session. Was able to get a 19 contact string first try in attempts for 20, so I said good enough. Then after a bunch of tries (but not too too many) I got 10 or 11 guiltless again.

After that I started working on routines. Changed my routine a little bit, but not entirely too much. I just need to practice it at least two more days this week for me to be comfortable with it. If I could play the next 3 days too and take friday off that'd be very ideal.

Now to do the homework for my class in 52 minutes

Just played again. I was starting to feel good until people showed up and started using the courts right on the other side of the fence where I was. I don't know why, but I really don't like soloing around people. So that kinda threw off my mojo for a while.

Once I started practicing my routine, I kinda of blocked them out. I more or less started by practicing the major cues in the song first. After going through the song maybe 3 times doing this, I decided I'd tackle the song as a whole. (Now that I'm thinking about it, I should've then worked on the filler. That'll be tomorrow's task.) So once I tried the whole song I failed pretty badly  I didn't have any good solid run throughs. My last was my best but there was a small section where I just kinda stood there.

I hope my roommate is the only other person in my suite who needs to shower before the 2:00 class. Last week I didn't get to shower before class once because one of the other dudes hopped in, saying he had a 2:00 class too.

Oh college.

Kicked/had an adventure today.

When I went to go play on the tennis courts today, there was a tennis match :x So I walked back to my dorm and had the idea of going to the reservation down the street. After my 20 minute walk to get there, I started wandering in search of a good, scenic shred spot. I came across a couple decent ones but decided to venture on. I make my way up the mountain. I found a large rock face about half way up that had a phenomenal view. So I did a DATW on it. After getting my cool shot of that, I continued on. I wanted to make it to the top, so when the the trail started going down again, I started to get bummed. Luckily, I found a really good shred spot that I decided I'd come back to later. I then found a path leading up the mountain again, so I start following that one. It was pretty steep and I didn't seem to be getting all that close to the top. I decided to head back to the good spot.

Once there, I had a pretty good session. I got it on film, so I'm definitely going to make a video. I'm pretty psyched about it. I hope I can have it done by the end of tonight. I just need to figure out a good song. I don't think any of the strings were particularly long though. If I post in the video section, that might be a turn off lol. The footage is currently being imported into imovie. Once it's done I'll be able to get started. I do have 1.5 pages of a paper due tomorrow so we'll see how well I can manage my time tonight :)

I forgot to mention something very exciting. During my descent from the mountain, I encountered a deer, with small antlers. I slowly walked by it, gaining its trust. It sensed I was no danger. He began to go on with his grass munching, so I started to leave. I waived as I walked away and he waived back with his tail! Whoa.

I just wandered what was seemingly all the land in search of a night shred spot, with zero luck. So unfortunately, no practice for John today. I was planning on playing today and resting tomorrow but I guess it'll have to be the other way around.

Wandering Highlights:

- tennis court lights off
- field hockey or soccer in main gymnasium
- cheerleaders in auxiliary gymnasium
- some random thing in dance studio
- no well lit random flat areas on campus

I could play in the common room I guess but I'm just not a fan of other people being around while I practice something like routines. Idk.

Tomorrow it is
