New way to tie (long) laces

Post by Aukku »

Hello modified! This is my first topic :D
This is a tutorial about how to shorten your lace ends or just to tie them firmly
Image
This works with Footbag Lacing method 3
Image
1. Tie your shoe as you normally would
Image
2. Put your lace loops under the big loops
Image
3. Put the loose lace ends inside the loops...

...and tie them with Reef Knot

Here you go and have fun. Peace!

You did a good tutorial, mate!
You can also put both loops under 1, and tie them with a reef knot.

Keep on making new ideas!

one could also consider trimming them to a shorter length with scissors and then burning the tips with a lighter, so they don't fray.

I just do a train-track lacing until I come to a point where I have to make the loops to prop up the toe walls. Then I tie off.

I usually find problems in having too little to lace with than having too much.

I ran into the problem with long laces years ago with my second pair of Chuck Taylors (converse).
I somehow resolved to tieing the laces around my ankle and back to tie off right above the tongue. I've been doing this daily now for years and Lavers turned out to be no exception.
As long as you pull your toes toward your shin when you are wrapping around your ankle, when you relax it wont be to tight.
I see no restrictions in movement and it actually does the best job at keeping the tongue of the shoe down.
I'm probably the only one who does this, but I assure you it works for me.

Right! Which they are in the photo.

First thing I thought reading the thread title.... burn the ends. Then I see the first photo and think, "Is he gonna cut them even shorter and re-burn them?"

I have done the above in the past and found that it helps keep the laces tight while you play as well.
Go out and shred already.

I also used to lace mine like this. Now I just keep the toe walls down and lace them normally.
