So I would like to say I haven't had time to update my blog moving back to college and the such, however, that would be a complete lie since all I do is procrastinate.
After reading the Vasek manual, I have completely changed my outlook on footbag and how I train/drill. Lately I have been able to achieve much longer strings, with moves I normally wouldn't throw in runs. I have found so many weak spots in my game which I am currently trying to patch up. I rarely take off practice, which may not be the best thing for me. I like to play atleast 2 hours a day, but often I play 3-4 and sometimes around 5 or 6 hours. I do not like to take any days off.
On thursday this week, my little sister and I are driving up to Boise for the Idaho open. She recently began kicking and can kick anywhere from 5-10 consistently when she focuses.
I do not have any highlights for my blog, however I will start to write things down as I session again. I hope to keep more active on my footblog and make my first video soon.

I have been drilling like an absolute madman. I feel that if I don't play atleast 2 hours a day then I am not dedicated enough. The past 15 days I have played 3 hours or more. I have taken probably 2 days of rest in the past month and a half.
Yesterday after talking to Mr. Boychuck, I totally switched my training regimen. I was easily distracted from session to session and rarely drilled the same concept consecutively throughout sessions to carry onto my next session. I need to stick to things until I am 100% comfortable doing the move.
I tried filming however halfway through I discovered I had no way to get the video on to my computer for editing.
Until I hit a standstill or stop progressing all together, I don't feel like posting what I am drilling. Maybe sometime in the future. I am moving along quite quickly, and hopefully eliminating my session to session A.D.D will help even more.

Hi.
hey Jeff,
I should warn you, from first hand advice... After playing for about 5 months straight, with an average of more than 6 days a week, was when I went to Green Cup...And on a dlo, my back just gave out. Technique was not wrong, the months just built up for that nice moment, a little sleep deprived. It took three months to begin to play normally again. So, the amount of time I missed probably made it so that my average was 5 days a week...
Of course, now again I'm playing everyday, but with one exception: At the moment I have any pain the next day, no matter how slight, I take two days off. One day to get rid of the pain, and the next to make sure my body healed up more than necessary. Sore muscles are a different story, but I imagine that is obvious. I'm not sure what your stretching habits are, but stretch at minimum, 10 straight minutes after each session. Don't just stretch a little bit, and call it good, really breathe and hold the positions. That should be first priority.
I'm really glad your dedication is consistent and has lasted for months on end. Good luck!

Played for about an hour today because I think im coming down with the h1n1, however, good warmup that consisted of clipper x 300, and other basics. Today is my 3rd day of drilling blender. I am drilling it until I wake up in my sleep because my legs are doing the motion. I am getting good at throwing variations of this move into runs and hitting them almost every time, however I am still bad at doing consecutives of blender. It is such an on and off trick for me.
Clipper x 300
Blender x 4
Blender > Pdx Blender bsos
Ducking Blender
Tons of long runs with blenders
Spender bs
Blender > dlo rpt
Random fact: All the chemicals in a human body combined are worth about 6.25 euro (if sold separately).

Had a session with Evan who is up here for the UNR vs UNLV game this weekend. The session was awesome, all the drilling I have been doing has definitely paid off. I was hitting some pretty damn solid runs. And Evan, although without having practiced much at all still blew me away.
He Hit Mobius > Foot rpt., and I footed the first half of it, which I didnt think was within my reach
Bunch of other stuff I cant remember

Today I had an absolutely amazing session.
Mostly drilling egg, and checking back on blenders to make sure muscle memory is still there.
It was my first day truly drilling eggbeater, and I found it to be a lot easier than I thought.
Pigbeater bs
pdx egg bs
ss egg from clipper bs
long run with pixie blender bsos
a lot of other very solid runs.
Drilling like a maniac is absolutely paying off. Everything feels so incredibly fluid. I feel like I am getting better and better every session.
Random Fact: Ernest Vincent Wright wrote a novel with over 50,000 words, none of which containing the letter "e."
How crazy is that?

Played with Ianek today, and did so horribly, which i directly attribute to the size of playing space in evans room. I shouldnt have to make excuses but it truly is very hard to play in. I also think I may have partied to hard in college and landed myself mono messing around with the cross country girls . It wont put me out of practice, I will just be sore throughout sessions, and tire much faster.
With that being said, I have so much to work on in footbag. Ianek is such a great teacher. He pinpointed that which I felt was wrong, but just couldnt put my finger on. It seems as thought I skipped a vital component whilst learning to play footbag. I never did legovers midtime with the little hop, and for that matter, any other trick. For this reason it seems as though I am executing tricks correctly but having trouble hitting them, or not hitting them at all because there are certain little sections in the trick where my timing is off. This is something I definitely plan on drilling the hell out of.
Another problem I am having is throughout progressing through footbag I have made sure that every trick is as perfect as I can perform it to my ability. For these reason I try to do tricks which require a burst of energy to slowly. I plant my foot to slowly, or I break a trick like fusion up into an atomic plant > double down. However, it is much easier to have the double down connected to the atomic so as to ensure that I am timing the trick correctly. It definitely is not a sin to play cleanly, but I am applying it too much, and not using energy where it is vital.

Played with Ianek twice this weekend and Evan once, and I am very disappointed in my performance those two sessions, although it may be attributed to the playing spaces, evans tiny room, or my moms laminated-like garage floor that is slippery as hell. Regardless I am putting learning new things on hold and making sure what I have is completely and utterly solid.
Whirl x 20 bs
Spinning clipper x 10 bs
Gyro clipper x 20
ss dlo x 6 bso
DLO x 6
bunch of decent runs focusing around certain components. Kind stressed over footbag right now

Changed my training regimen again to better suit myself. I am trying to find a balance to where I have fun playing but still learn at a good pace. To do this I will pick a concept drill the concept. Then start stringing and every string will either start with the trick I am working on, or have it midstring, and preferably bsos. So far I have been doing this for 2 days, and my sessions have been quite good as far as progressing and having fun goes.
Oct 21 session:
Worked on torque stuff
Torque bsos in long string sealed with pdx torque
Pdx torque bsos
lot of gyro clipper drilling
Today session:
Osis x 59
Ducking clipper x50
spinning clipper > pdx egg bs
pdx blender bsos
pdx dlo > legbeater bsos
pixie blender bsos
Edit: Session 2 today
Bunch of spinning whirls and torque stuff
blurry torque
P.S. Are there any chess players out there, who'd be interested in playing on yahoo or something?

Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

Hey old buddy it's Brian from the old school Zombie club. I'll play you at chess sometime. =) Congratulations on coming so far with your game, man! Hope you're still holding down all those good positive vibes I remember, and I look forward to seeing you at a competition. =)
PS I'll play you at Chess
How about an e-mail chess game stretched out over weeks?

Wow! Brian how you been man? good to see you are still surfing the forums! Do you play much anymore? Where are you living now?
Reid: I will do this drill in due time. May take a little, may have trouble with the link. Thanks for posting
Played today and did runs consisting mostly of pdx eggs and pdx dlo's. Finished drilling spinning and ducking whirls. Had a run with spinning whirl bsos.
Pdx eggs are becoming easier.
Drilled a bunch of gyro ducking clipper and symp whirls as well.
Will have highlights from next session. I have been only doing 2 hour max sessions lately because shin splints are coming back. However, I should be 100% again soon enough.

osis > ripwalk x 10 bs
bunch of variations of osis > stepping
blender > torque bsos
pixie torque bs
pixie ss torque bs
atomic legover > double over down bs

pixie double pickup
pdx egg bsos
gyro clipper > symp whirl rpt
50/50 on attending nyj
