Do you shred to music?

Post by Drew »

Did a search but didn't think any topic really applied to this

Pretty straightforward question here, Do you normally shred to music? Maybe some of the time, but not all the time? Do you use speakers or headphones/earbuds? Switch it up?

Was just wondering about others'.

I voted some of the time because I play with music whenever the option is available, but sometimes there's no music player and / or electricity.

I like interesting, well-composed techno because it provides a steady rhythm to play to usually, and is fun to listen to. Gypsy jazz is another favorite of mine.

I voted some of the time, but I generally don't listen to music during solo sessions. I usually find that if the song is a fast paced one, I'll try to play harder, and ultimately drop more. I haven't been as bad with this recently though. If I bring my laptop with me to kick, I'll put on music. I do also have an armband for my ipod, but my headphones aren't that good for it :?

edit: I might've clicked the wrong option, not sure. but I'm "some of the time"

Oh yeah. I've got my portable speakers for my phone, and I stream Pandora stations while I play. Usually a station with the Pharcyde and Tribe as the artist seeds, but sometimes a Ramones/Dead Kennedys/Clash station and sometimes and Explosions in the Sky station.

I play to the music I would listen to normally. It's good background, and it's not distracting enough to provoke longer breaks like TV can.

All the time. At the moment i shred at home in my kitchen, which is right next to my PC.

Just got round to fixing up my PSP though, and bought a set of speakers for it ready for the better weather.

Playing with music is so much more enjoyable. So yes. If I play solo it's iPod shuffle and earbuds (which works pretty well), otherwise speakers. Recently the selection has been mostly drum and bass, house and hip-hop.

I'd much rather use speakers/stereo if at all possible.
I love shredding to music. And i love watching how people in a circle react when a song changes mid-string, lol.

Got an iPhone and iPod Touch with a portable player that takes 4aa batteries.

When I am in wifi range I stream Slacker Radio on a "Club Hits" dance channel or Panadora on a hip hop channel. When I can't get wifi I use the iPhone. When Pandora runs out of time (40 hours max) or slacker cannot connect (also free) I am forced to rely on the crap music I have stolen....err borrowed from friends over the years. Which means every Eminem song known to man -thanks Orton

He he he he, my intermittent shred partner will pretty much refuse to play to anything else. I wouldnt mind so much, but he likes Stan, and it just doesnt work!

I would definitely prefer to listen to music everytime I play footbag. It keeps me in rhythm and I really play that much better to the beat.

Any hip hop with a good beat, or anything that builds up to something intense, like godspeed etc.

For the first 3 or 4 years of footbag, i never played without music, so I am really use to it now.
