^...thanks for posting and the nice words

I also check out your game alot.....:)

As far as preparation.....
Ive actually done more than start to plan it....i pretty much already have everything but the routine all planned out...., but i am aware that plans to hit and actually hitting are two different things..... I have only been to one comp and even though I did well, i didnt execute my game plan as much as I should have or could have....my tripless shuffle was completely none existent at east coast and ill be damned to have it happen again...
I feel that I have to have a plan... the players I played against at east coast have gotten better and there will be even bigger names at open....so I feel that if I shred my ass off for the next 8 weeks, get in shape, have a plan , and MOST IMPORTANTLY ....execute that plan on a Saturday in late August, then ill have the best CHANCE that I can give myself in advancing in circles.....
before I hurt my leg and took a week off, I was not in a competitive vibe.....just excited to go and stand next to the guys who I have been watcing on video for years......hanging and shredding until my legs fall off......
I am aware that Ken , and a couple others are going to be kicking ass so I feel that I have to get a strategy to even compete and not have my ass handed to me.....
I was talking to my wife Michelle , and because I was talking about not being too competitive......she told me " you are probably going to lose" she went on to say that she had never seen me about to do something competitive and not try to win. and becasue of my laid backness I would get my ass kicked...........this is true....when I entered a 12 week fitness comp ....I got in to win and out of many applicants my wife and I got top ten, p90 x ...I decided to get more ripped than i had ever been..... At east coast ....I WON.......(damn miracle ) .. So something clicked........I dont have the chance to go up against the best in the country in my home town.....I dont get to go to comps often .....so I better do the best fucking job that I can to win.... I look at it like....if you want to place top 10 then you better be trying to win because most of the time expectations fall short.......either way.....something clicked and now I honestly will be trying to win . My main goal however, is not to win, but just to go ......(which may or may not be an advantage in the comp) my goal is to show my game.....in front of players who are better than me and infront of everyone. There is a chance that my ass will get handed to me , and a chance that i will do well.....but either way Im preparing for Ken, Nick, Justin, Chris, Stanford, Penske, Pipebomb, and anyone else as if I am Rocky about to fight the Giant .

Time to session

Crap, I never got this memo. I better go prepare.

In all seriousness, I'm stoked that you're training hard. Considering I've never played with you and probably won't play with you very often, I'm hoping you are at your sharpest. If you don't get to play with people frequently, you always hope you are seeing their best when you do. If that makes sense.

On an unrelated note, I hit revup-dimwalk drill in my last video, inspired by you.

Good luck with training, and stoked to meet you in almost exactly two months!

Played yesterday ....
I have decided that my diet is not working ....ok ....I have dieted and done the before\after pics with working out regularly with weight lifting and another time with only body resistance training .. Even though both went well , I never Ever counted calories ....I just ate healthy meals mutiple times a day . If I wanted to get big I ate more and if I wanted to get ripped I ate less fat .

Recently I have spent about a month being very aware if my calories ... .at 150 ish I wanted to see if I could get to 148 ...
My phone app logged everyhing and I basically was allowed 1400 calories a day ... If u exercise at all u burn calories and get to eat more ... So on dats when I didnt shred I ate less but In days where I played for two hours I ate more calories ...I figured at least 1000 calories are burned in a single session ....I wish I knew that exact figure ... I feel that footbag can burn more calories than other athletic activities ... Anyway

I have gotten lighter now ... But I Honeslty dont feel that I have been able to push as much ..... I basically feel like shit durin the session and it's 104 outside where I live and humid ... I was shredding with water an eating light in the morning and two days a go I stopped ....
Now I eat more and will count to see many but mainly I will eat more healty calories and take in more food .... And liquids ...
I have started more body exercises and pull ups
I have been doing pushups and random pullups for 2 months so I expect to be in better shape in 8 weeks ..I have one week vacation in tennessee . Will still eat healthy on vacation minus one meal ... I am also taking supplements for the next eight weeks ... Proteins and vitamins and muscle builder no2 creating and drinking more water and shredding with powerade .. And trying to be in the shade .
Yesterday's workout .
3sets of 8-10 pullups
5 sets of 20 pushups ( different angles)
Abs
5 min upper body core training
Ate Carbs and made powerade
30 min later session
Played 1hour 15 min
Hit
Some better runs but realized right away that changing my diet again is hopefully going to work better .. I feel better

Worked on groups ten tricks to warm up .. Have to have more room to shred .. Hit stuff like
Phonex > ripwalk > sidewalk> blur> legbeater > ripwalk > sidewalk> blur>legbeater >blurriest > blurry whirl > p torque ...

I won't shred like this at the comp but it should be helpful in getting in better shape ... It's weird training because for the first time I haven't been experimenting as much In the session ... Recently in my game I had went after some basic components I wanted ... Blenders , ripstein , rev up, dlo , eggbeater ... I still get just as excited to bsos eggbeater as I do spinnin duckin butterfly or osis..

Also hit rev up> tripwalk > ripwalk> rev up > legbeater > pogo blur> double switch > dimmier> bw> ripstein > drop on ss dlo
Anyway ...
I've also been playing more jazz and learning my saxophone more in the last 6 months than I have in 10 years ... It feels good .

1400 calories a day is definitly not enough... Event for someone that doesn't do much sport, that seems to be a minimum to me...
Someone who do lots of sports need muchm more then that.
Maybe ask Aaron Orthon, (maximus something on the forum)?
He is a personnal trainer i'm sure he could help you with that.

I think I'm in a similar situation.
You'd commented on my P90X before. Does that mean you've done it through before? I'm doing the diet too. I had a calorie-tracker app that I used before and it allowed me 1800 for my weight and activity level and stuff, but P90X says I should be taking in, like, 2500 based on some factors. But I find with my diet I end up eating around the same as you -- 1400 (I didn't notice until I checked out of curiosity.) I do feel like I have enough energy most of the time though. And I've lost, like, 10 pounds in about 2 weeks. I don't starve myself, just eat as I need to, but eat healthy. I'm also taking supplements -- a multivitamin and whey protein every day. I hear that chocolate milk is a good (and better?) alternative to sports drinks.

^ thanks Mat.......Ill ask him.....

Eric and Matt....on a footbag day ive taken in as much as 2500 -2800- calories.... and figured i burn about 1000 of those off.... I do feel that 1300-1500 is way too low for me,

As far as p90x .....I tried the low carb thing for 3 days and couldnt do it....I was feeling like I was going fucking nuts.....I added extra carbs and basically ate healthy food about every two hours... i averaged about 6 -8 meals a day...3 were shakes and bars , but the rest were protein, carbs, and vegtables....... I did the p 90 x thing for two months and got better resuts thatn ever...but I have to be honest and say I did my own version....I would sometimes do only half to a third of the workout...I feel that that even doing half of what the workout is will get GREAT resutls......any more is overworking and not beneficial ...... I would however do more pushups EVERY TIME that dooche guy would do..... I never did the cardio, I did plyometrics a tiny bit, I did the abs exactly, and accidentaly gave myself a hairline fracture in my rib doing the yoga.....so basically i just did shit loads of body resistence traning and alot of different kinds of pushups, pullups , and sit ups....

Today I sessioned even though I needed a day off
had a productive session
-hit
ripstein>ss dlo bs
-rev up>pixie ss mirage bsos
- swirling rev up >pixie ss mirage bs
- swirling rev up >pixie ss torque bs
- bw bsos
- smear>pixie ss mirage repeat 3 times in a run
-flip frankenstein
-swirling rev up>pixie ss dyno>rev up
-swirling rev up>atomic gyro mirage
-phonex>10 double dexes>janiwalker
- gyro dlo, dlo, ss dlo, all bsos
-ducking legover, spinning legover, stepping ss legover, stepping op legover, spinning ducking leg over all bsos 8)

and just so you know...I fucking love chocolate milk....so I wish that was true!

A recent study, published in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise (1), reports that athletes who drank chocolate milk after an intense bout of exercise were able to workout longer and with more power during a second workout compared to athletes who drank commercial sports beverages.
The interesting thing about chocolate milk is that it didn’t have to change a thing to be considered a market threat. Its original recipe matches the recommended ratio for the perfect post-exercise recovery drink — three parts carbohydrate to one part protein.
Now it appears that the six-time gold medalist may have been onto something. A new study shows that plain old chocolate milk may be as good -- or better -- than sports drinks like Gatorade at helping athletes recover from strenuous exercise.

Okay, reading this chocolate milk stuff made my day. People give me crap for how much I love it. I never prepare a lunch for work, and have found that sipping a cheap quart of chocolate milk keeps my energy level up and appetite sated all day.

If I ever run a tournament the only food offered for contestants will be chocolate milk and bananas.

Congrats on bedwetter bsos!

Haha.
Well I don't think I would drink it BEFORE. I'm seriously lactose intolerant, so even after for me is questionable, though my after-workout drink is half skim milk right now. I'm curious if it will make a difference for you. Give an update after you've tried it!

dang, i want chocolate milk now.
I used to drink it after sessions sometimes, when I had some Hershey's syrup, and I'd drink nearly the whole glass on the first swig. Tastes so good and refreshing.

This has turned out to be one of the funnest pages of my blog....
Now we are building this gang of chocolate milk drinkers..

After reading more on this.... cm is basically equal to gatorade in replinishing fliuds....but beats out the sports drink at helping muscles to rebuild. Glycogen levels are increased more than sports drinks....it is not reccommended before of during workouts....because your stomach will be angry at you , but apparently as an afer workout drink...it is the bomb diggity. Reccommended mix is cocoa with low fat milk.... and a teaspoon of sugar....Sounds good to me.....

I'm also a chocolate milk drinker (and not just related to sports), and have found no adverse effects. One thing that I had read, which I'm not sure has been mentioned yet, is that it is important to have the chocolate milk within 15-20 minutes after finishing your workout. Having it an hour after playing won't do anything apparently.

Session with Rob Creel :)

.I brought my camera, computer speakers, powerade and was ready to go .....then the damn outlets didnt work ...... so it was a no camera no music session....I really wanted to get some footage of Rob and I too..:/ I hit some ok stuff, Rob hit some nice atomic stuff and was fun to hang with...... I hit p blender>ripstein mid run and in the same run randomly went for double spinning anything...and hit double spinning osis first time ever and mid run.. Unfortunately I landed on my ankle trying symp atomic swirling ss butterfly at the end of the session....it hurts and i have ice on it now....but should be ok within the week.... I dont really know what Im gonna do...I was really enjoying playing and experimenting and recently been feeling like my game sucks and that my training for open is not going well... I had maybe only two runs today that I can say would be good enough to show to other players....but just not hitting alot of stuff. I happen to get a tiny taste of goodness with my p blenders being on today....but that was it.....

did hit..

dimwalk swirl bs
ripwalk swirl bs
ripstein bsos a bunch
phasing rev up bs
P blender>ripstein and BW>ripstein same run
double spinning osis mid run ( dont know what even made me go for it)

Anyway,,, so much for being ready for US Open......before east coast I was hitting ten seperate unique 5s in a run pretty damn consisntently and I get there and play like shit......now.....My tranining feels like shit...so Im hoping that a swirling mobius and a couple of cool links make my game worth seeing.....

Sorry for the not so happy post , but I havent been playing well and I wish I was......

Everyone has bad days.
your videos lately have looked awesome, so I don't know why you say your game sucks lately. I guess if you're trying to train hard it's important to be hard on yourself, but you don't want to kill yourself. I mean, ultimately you're going for fun and to shred and hang with other people, right? I wouldn't stress over it. Do you best, keep training, don't let it get you down, and I think you'll still kick a lot of ass.

Oh, also, props on the tricks. I really dig dimwalk swirl, and double spinning osis for the first time midstring must have feel great :)
