Does anyone know where Ryan Mulroney resides, what he's up to or if he even still kicks anymore? Also about how old is he now? I entered footbag way beyond his legacy but I was into "hacky sack" in the early to mid 90's before I found computers ..... I find it extremely interesting to see how insane he was back when I was in my prime and yet I was clueless to footbags existence...stupid computer..

"I now live with my wife in Los Angeles"
He changed his name, and I heard it was because he didn't want his career to be associated with a sweaty shirtless dance. This is only rumour though -- not sure if it's true. You can see his old website redirects to his new though: http://www.ryanmulroney.com/

I heard the same thing once. Similar to Felix taking his footbag vids down so it didn't interfere with his beatboxing? That didn't make sense to me, but maybe he knows something I don't.

But then I heard Ryan took his wife's last name instead of her taking his just as a fuck you to normal conventions. I kind of like that.

He did change his name to his wife's last name - Donohoe.
Here is his new website: http://www.ryandonohoe.com/

I don't know the guy personally, so I may be wrong: but if you go to the old "Ryan Mulroney" site (ryanmulroney.com) it still shows his name then his wife's name - with the redirect to the new site. My impression, just looking at it, is that ryandonohoe is a more professional site for his business. And, quite possibly, he actually calls the business Ryan Donohoe furniture. Not uncommon to mix names for the name of a business if they're both actually involved in building the furniture.

Again - that's just what I get from looking at things. It's equally possible that he took his wife's last name.

Either which way, it's awesome to watch that vid again. Great style. He was one of the game changers.

I just think it's a shame to disconnect yourself from something that impacted so many people. He was the guru for footbag and now he's a ghost. I wish I had the chance to be a part of the scene back then as it is more of my prime timeline as far as age goes. He's probably around 33 right now so about 6 years younger even. His style takes me back though and reminds me of my own play although I'm not as consistent but that really fast tempo seemed to be popular back then. Wherever he is... I thank him for taking it to it's next level and being a part of footbag history. Maybe he'll show up at a USO one of these times. Red wrote an awesome article about the rise of Vasek and in some ways the fall of Mulroney. It had me memorized and hanging on every word. Highly recommend it.. It's called The Day Vasek Took Over.
