Footbag is not a real sport!

Kick back and relax. Anything that does not have to do with footbag goes here!

Shred 30, 2 minute rountines.

The only difference is the way it is judged. The moves are the same in both areas, just routines include toilet stalls and flyers.

The system those guys use to determine sports from "athletic activity" is flawed!

Matt wrote:why do you care if footbag is a sport or not? Will it affect whether you play or the way that you play?
there is a guy over at footbag.co.nz in the Forum who has been emailing this guy, i think it could be about sponsorship to run a competition or something? the dude said that footbag is not a 'sport' but its a 'recreation' lol. So the definition of Footbag as a sport or not could have an important bearing on ppl getting support now and in the future, and thus the way they play...

i think this guy is also requesting ppl to email the guy who disputes footbag as a sport, in order to convince him otherwise. maybe some ppl here would want to try? articulate and well-researched emails only i would think, no flames :D

I'm kinda with matt on this one.

I could be the only one that thinks this way, but it wouldn't bother me at all. I don't, and couldn't care less if footbag was considered to be a 'sport' or not. Does it really make a difference? I play because it's fun to challenge, push yourself, and acknowledge others that do the same.

I don't think you realise the level at which darts is played. It's not about fatique where you can't get the dart to the board, or even fatique where you can't get all the darts in the right number. You could throw 100% of your darts into the number of choice, but I will defeat you in any game, easilly.
Hitting the number is like hitting a toe stall, it's the lowest level of proficiency of some sort. Being able to hit the targets is when fatique sets in, they are tiny, and the darts take up a lot of space. The action require to achieve a trajectory such that 3 darts can fit inside the circumference of a dime is very demanding and leaves no room for error. You don't have to feel exhausted to have the muscles fatique to the point that it's impossible to execute the throws needed to win.

You think you can beat me at darts? We've never played together. But I'll take that challenge in a heart beat.

I don't doubt you ability to spank the crap out of me at darts. But, I'm no slacker myself. And Yes, I posses the ability to nail the bull three times in a row. Mentally this is the easiest spot on the board as your eyes are forced to focus on that tiny little dot with each throw anyway.

I played a ton of darts in college. It got to the point where we got bored hitting the same targets over and over. So we invented a new game where you nail lines in the camel hair, the circles in the 8's on the board, nail heads attached to the black plastic squares holding the board together, at a distance twice as great as required.

I'm not saying I'll beat you, but I will make you work for it.

Chess is a sport :D .
