man that would be so funny it would be footbaggers mobalize into making a video game... but seriosly I don't think any real company would develope a game I mean if they made 1 million- 1.5 million that's not that much you have to pay retailers, advertising, and it takes a big staff to develope a game people wouldn't make that much. Unless it was some small Indy game company... Oh yeh and those images are awsome...

But you wouldn't have to pay for advertising.

if footbagers tell all the newb footbaggers about it, then those people tell their buds, word of mouth would get the product to the right people. So this company could effectively spend 0 dollars for advertising and promotion. They could actually publish the game and package it in plain jewel cases, no instructions or books of any kind. All they would be paying for is the creation process and the cost of burning a CD (3 cents).

Wouldn't be that expensive. Companies that might do this;

Bethesda Softworks Inc.
Ubi Soft (They are rich, very rich)
Neversoft (Tony Hawks success might be an issue)
Team 17 (Makes great low budget games)

Maybe we could start by shooting a project proposal to these compaines?
Just thinkin.

Yeh that would work, I was more reffering to why a major company wouldn't make the game, because they usualy have many other costs besides making the game... or so I think...

Only problem is I'm pretty sure game companies look to put out a good reputation for themselves and make themselves seem professional as possible, no matter how small scale they are. I think that despite the amount of money saved by selling a game with no bells of whistles (and I use that term loosely, just meaning instructions, box art, etc), most game companies wouldn't do that simply due to having to uphold a professional image and keep a certain reputation.

I think it would be cool to do as Damon said and try to pool the resources of everyone in the community to attempt to make something.

Damon, it's not the game that doesn't load, its the website. I type in http://www.blurryworld.com and the computer just makes clicking noises over and over and the website kind of flashes, like its being loaded and reloaded every second... I don't think it's a matter of waiting.

back on topic, has anyone ever played the California Games for genesis, super nintendo?

it had "Hacky Sack" in it, and it sucked. you could head hit, toe stall, jester, and normal kick and outside kick

the designers of games would not go out to great lengths to figure out how to make each move flow with the other, and they wouldnt search for every move out there.
I have that game. You could hit birds, that was the fun part =/ Adam dude, I was totally thinking about the same kinda thing 3 days ago. I was watching TV and was watching some people play Tony Hawk Underground and was like "Wow, that would be cool if there was a footbag game like that." Work your way up from the bottom, get better by schooling in your garage or something. Have locations like Montreal, Prague, Seattle, Philly, etc. Walk around and be like "you mind if I kick with you?" I think that'd be hilarious and awesome! I think some of the gamers on the board might play that more than shredding though haha. It'd be fun though to play that after a session.

I would play it more then shredding

I think it would be fun to try to make. It would take a whole lot tho..

I also thought of making a website in Adobe Atmosphere which is like... a 3d website builder (http://www.adobe.com for more info) and I have pretty good expertise with it. However, everyone would need the program and the plugin, and it would be hella crappy trying to pay for a host that has unlimited bandwidth, and there would be no money made to support that.

So.

If anyone has purchased or plans to purchase a game engine, let me know cause I would be able to help with modeling, rendering, ideas and production, advertising and branding, and web support.

Sorry Damon, mesh is my bane.

I know some people in the design industry that might tho.. but they would charge a fee for services rendered.

Poser might work, we could use the models from poser and animate moves in poser and export them to an engine... that would take time and effort, but it might be worthwhile...

*looks for poser4 + pro pack in pile of old CDs*

Kay, I found my copy of Poser4.

Anyone have any contacts or know any experts that might lend a hand?

And it doesnt matter how big it is. Compression and multiple CDs are all workable.

And footbaggers would wait till the end of the earth for the download.
I think.

um.. not sure if this will work because I don't really know anything about poser.. but could you buy some of the wire frames of of there site... I think that's what there selling at least, but I dought it would be that expensive and you could just have one boy and one girl and create different skins for them... I would offer my help, but I don't know anything about programing in flash... darn dustin learn C++ faster!!!

I know flash is vector based, but is there no way of importing wire mesh figures and then texture mapping over them? Maybe not, I have used flash a some for creating animations and stuff but no games or anything... I was actually thinking about java or C++ when I thought of wire frames and such, because I think you can use Open GL to do texture mapping and such... I am pretty positive it can be done, but it's way out of my league for proggramming and stuff, and I am guessing it would take an enormous amount of time...

I have dozens of Ebooks regarding 3d game programing.

I have yet to read them.

Damon, I am familliar with XSI | Softimage 3.0
I have it, and I know the layout but haven't done much with it.

Would you be able to utilize these tools? I could mail them to you if you want.
