New video camera...

Post by Lee »

I just got a video camera for my 16th birthday (9/20) and was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best kind of movie editor out there was, or the ones that you guys use. I would like to post some longer videos than my little 10MB raw footage types.

If you have windows XP, you probably have Windows Movie Maker.

Start>programs>accessories>windows movie maker

Make sure you have windows service pack 2 installed to get the full options in the program. Windows Movie Maker is pretty basic and really simple to use.

I use premier. It works pretty well, I think. But you have to have a pretty decent pooter, or it runs reeeeally slow. For me when I'm editing I have to have the music turned off while the video is running.

If your just starting out (which by the sounds of things you are) get something like pinnacle or maybe premiere 6.
Im downloading premiere 7 right now :D

BTW, what kind of camera did you get?

Where do I download 'pinnacle' or 'premiere 6'? Or is it an item I need to buy? And the camera I have is a Samsung SC-D353.

You need to buy them. But this is free, as long as you don't use it for commercial purposes.
