Actually, that wouldn't be feasible for Americans because we have restrictions on sugar imports that raises the price of our sugar significantly. That's why we have corn syrup in our soda. Mexican soda sells way better in the US because it contains real sugar and is sweeter.

There was shipment of real sugar soda kosher for Passover [the majority believe corn syrup should not be consumed during Passover] which was consumed mostly by the gentile population because of its superior taste [I didn't get any

]

Anyways, it would be cool though

Superior alternative to oil technology has existed for at least 30 years. But the government's gotta make that dolla.

80 cents, if it gets that low, would be the pre-TAX price, our morbidly obese (on tax dollars) congressmen will no doubt slap a 50 cent or 1 dollar (or more) tax on each gallon. Who cares how efficient manufacturers make it, the politicians will make sure we take in the ass at the pump anyway.

I agree. The oil industry has such a stranglehold on the US government that ethanol would be taxed into an un-economical joke.

....though it is nice to know that we have a back-up plan when the oil supplies are getting low.
