Many people seems to have some problems playing those clips. HDV needs quite powerful processor to run smoothly, some 1.8 Ghz should be enough. Also, mpeg codec that can't handle HDV might be reason for choppiness(?).

I recently got a chance to test Sony's new HDV camera. Unfortunately, my current editing software can't handle HDV, but I managed to capture and re-encode a few test clips ...

Props for everyone who made it to semifinals. It was nice to see lots of routines with only few (if any) drops.

My routine was a fine example of how everything can go wrong...I never played that bad before in competition. Truly a footbag-nightmare.

What kind of video files are you trying to convert? Basically, if you have all the necessary codecs, you can open your video files in VirtualDub ( http://www.virtualdub.org ) and re-encode them to DivX. Also, remember to compress audio, because divx compresses only video.

Can anyone suggest some settings for exporting clips as AVI's without loosing too much quality and without having a 188MB file for a 4min clip? I use Premier 7 Pro for editing because I find it's a very professional program, that promises so much as I come to learn it in more ...

I compared Flipsider's (or footbag.org's) video of Vasek's semifinal routine (which has frame rate something like 15) and another video of same routine which was taken at full frame rate and it was a lot smoother and so much better to watch.

My first five was (surprisingly) paradox dada, but first real five was backside symposium blur.

No six adds yet, whirlwind has rolled off my foot a few times...
